Look into My World: Eléna on the Hunt for the Golden Snitch
A FILM BY ANNA SCHMIDT
Eléna is 10 and has been playing Kidditch for a year now – that’s what the children’s teams are called in Quidditch, the magical sport invented by Joanne K. Rowling. Eléna’s passion for this extraordinary game is, quite clearly, the fault of Harry Potter and her dad. After she devoured the third Potter book, he told her that there’s a Quidditch team in Halle too – the Horcruxes. But it’s thanks to the 10-year-old’s sheer persistence that she gets to play there at all, since Halle doesn’t yet have its own children’s team. Eléna refused to be turned away, though, and now the ten-year-old girl runs across the field with the grown-ups once a week. Outdoors. Come rain or shine, snow or ice.
Now Eléna has a goal: Kidditch teams, as the children’s teams are called, so that she can finally take part in tournaments too. The energetic girl is pulling out all the stops to make this happen. Will the 10-year-old succeed in putting together a Kidditch team?
